Program Details

This program focuses on helping students transition into the independent learners they need to become in order to experience successful high school years.  As students follow the chronological timeline in the Mystery of History, emphasis is placed on related literature, writing proficiency, grammar practice and presentation skills, Through the further exploration of Latin, a stronger basis for high school foreign language study is formed.  Apologia Science textbooks are also used to better prepare students for more difficult high school subjects in this same series.

Core Curriculum includes:

2)Journaling:  Please purchase a composition notebook for journaling.  We will continue to use these during the school year.  Each week during the summer your student needs to fill a minimum of one full page (one side) in his/her journal composition book.  This can be done as one journal entry where you write an entire page.  It may also be done with several shorter entries where your student may choose to write three entries in one week that together fill up one page. Topics may be factual or made up.  Please date each entry.  On the first day back to class 11 journal pages will be due.  This allows for some vacation time.  Attached you will find some writing prompt web addresses that may be helpful.
