Jennifer Cormack

Literature, Art History, Writing

Bringing color into people’s lives with a richness of perspective and depth of purpose, remains at the core of Mrs. Cormack’s life desires. She lived in Germany and traveled abroad in Europe during her primary years until age six. As an adult, she returned to Europe for a year long study of architecture in Paris, France culminating with graduation from The Georgia Institute of Technology in 1991. After years of drawing elementary and middle schools, she discovered a passion for the interior. The development of design career naturally led Mrs. Cormack to pursue her love of oil painting and teaching art to children. Together she and her husband, Graham, operate Cormack Architecture Design Group.

A marvelous journey of faith caused her family to leave everything familiar in Georgia. Arriving in California during the 2nd month of a new school year, Mrs. Cormack offered her son the option of home schooling. Eagerly he accepted. Finishing their 4th year of home schooling, her focus remains steadfast in preparing him for the rigors of university study as he enters high school in the upcoming year.

When they moved from California to South Carolina three years ago, the family travelled 16 days across the continental U.S. visiting as many National Parks and Presidential Museums as possible along the way. From Arches National Park to the boyhood home of Abraham Lincoln, her appreciation for American history and our geographical diversity simply wet her appetite for more.

Through creative design and cognitive development, Mrs. Cormack presents a well-balanced forum to the students―in turn igniting a passion for learning in them. On every front, she will encourage them to embrace their academic challenges and arrest any remnant laissez-faire attitudes. She exceedingly appreciates the opportunity to bring enrichment and depth to our home school community of maturing teens.

Mrs. Cormack has served as VBHE Honor Society Moderator for the past two years. She has also undertaken the following responsibilities: Stanford Testing Proctor, Community Bible Study Core Leader, and Cub Scout Leader in various roles from Popcorn Chairperson to Assistant Cub Master. We are delighted to have her as part of our Pathways for Scholars High School development team.
